FP&A Manager owns OpEx and headcount budgeting for Engineering/Product/Design, builds financial models, and partners with leadership on strategic investment decisions.

What this role involves

About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company. We free people and agents to ship what’s next.

For more than a decade, Vercel has shaped how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products that help builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now, software is entering a new era, and the next generation of products will not just be used by people. They will be built, extended, and operated by agents.

We are building the platform for that future, trusted by companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. Whether you’re building our products, supporting our customers, growing our community, or shaping our story, you’ll help define what comes next.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an FP&A Manager, Product to join our Finance team. You’ll be the financial lead for our Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) organizations—owning OpEx and headcount planning while building scalable systems that improve visibility and decision-making. You’ll partner cross-functionally with Engineering leadership, People, and Strategic Finance to ensure investments are intentional, efficient, and aligned with long-term company strategy.

What You Will Do:

  • Own the Product investment envelope – Manage OpEx and headcount budgets across EPD. Ensure investments align with company strategy while maintaining disciplined spend and margin targets.
  • Drive rigorous workforce planning across technical and corporate teams – Build bottoms-up headcount models by function and level. Partner with Engineering leaders to sequence hiring against roadmap needs, compliance requirements, and operational scale.
  • Model infrastructure and internal systems economics – Develop clear forecasting models for cloud hosting, AI/compute, internal tooling, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems. Identify optimization opportunities across both product infrastructure and corporate tech stack.
  • Translate roadmap and corporate priorities into financial tradeoffs – Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, capitalizable vs. expensed R&D, and vendor investments across EPD. Provide clear recommendations grounded in ROI and long-term cost structure impact.
  • Elevate budget vs. actuals rigor across the organization – Lead monthly BvA reviews for EPD. Automate reporting, improve accrual accuracy, and surface actionable insights—not just variance explanations.
  • Design scalable financial controls without slowing teams down – Implement approval workflows for headcount, vendor spend, and enterprise tooling that are disciplined, fast, and transparent. Use automation and AI to reduce manual review and eliminate bottlenecks.

About You:

  • Proven partner to Engineering leaders – You’ve supported technical teams and corporate functions, understanding how product velocity and operational infrastructure translate into financial outcomes.
  • Fluent in infrastructure and SaaS cost drivers – You understand cloud economics, AI/compute scaling, enterprise tooling, and how architecture and vendor decisions impact margins.
  • Strong operator in workforce planning – You’ve managed complex headcount models across multiple departments, aligning hiring pace with financial guardrails.
  • Advanced financial modeler – You build scenario-driven models with clear assumptions and sensitivity analysis that stand up to executive scrutiny.
  • Precision-focused and systems-oriented – You eliminate blind spots in forecasting, improve accrual accuracy, and build processes that scale without creating bureaucracy.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $180,000.00 - $220,000.00. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.

Vercel is committed to fostering and empowering an inclusive community within our organization. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Vercel encourages everyone to apply for our available positions, even if they don’t necessarily check every box on the job description.

Finance Operations Analyst (Finance) at Able

Manages payroll, expenses, and financial close processes while building dashboards and reporting systems to support leadership decision-making.

Mid Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Back in 2012, we were a group of engineers and designers who decided we wanted to build things, so we did. Able started as an engineering and product hub building for a portfolio of early-stage startups. We built many relationships while developing products that were thoughtful, effective, and genuinely useful. But, since then, we’ve grown… and so has our ambition.

Now, we’re entering our next chapter, defined by applied AI. AI is a powerful force in the end-to-end software development cycle, and we’re creating practices that allow us to deliver software fast and more effectively than traditional approaches, creating meaningful value for our partners. Today, our builder mindset is driving us to become an AI-native organization across every function. We’re still evolving, and that’s part of the opportunity. If you want to build, learn, and tackle challenges alongside an ambitious team, let’s build together.

This position is 100% remote in Latin America.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Operations Analyst (Finance) to join Able’s growing Operations function and work closely with our Head of Finance. This is a hands-on role with two connected areas of ownership: finance execution and business insights. You’ll help keep the financial side of the business running reliably, from payroll and expenses to monthly close support, while also building the reporting and dashboards leadership needs to make better decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both getting the numbers right and figuring out what the numbers are telling us. You’ll have the opportunity to build processes, improve systems, and establish reporting capabilities that don’t exist today.

What We’re Looking For

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Finance Operations

  • Own payroll execution across LATAM and US systems, including contractor payments and payroll reconciliation.
  • Manage employee expenses, corporate cards, receipts, approvals, and reimbursements.
  • Support the monthly close process through journal entries, reconciliations, invoice tracking, and accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate, clean, and reconciled financial data across relevant systems.
  • Partner with the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate issues until the underlying cause is understood and resolved.

Data & Business Insights

  • Build and maintain Able’s leadership dashboard, covering key business metrics such as revenue, pipeline, retainer health, utilization, and cash.
  • Establish recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for the leadership team.
  • Define and document business metrics so teams are working from consistent definitions and data.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Monitor data quality across systems such as HubSpot or Attio, Deel, and Greenhouse, and coordinate resolution of issues when they arise.
  • Turn fragmented data into clear, actionable insights for leadership and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in finance operations, financial analysis, business operations, or a related analytical role, ideally within a growing company.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll, expense management, and monthly financial close processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced spreadsheet proficiency.
  • Experience working with SQL and/or business intelligence tools such as Metabase, Looker Studio, or similar.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, or analyses for leadership audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of comfort working with financial data.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Deel, Justworks, HubSpot, Attio, Greenhouse, or comparable systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong ownership and the ability to manage work independently in a growing, evolving environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting both US and LATAM payroll or finance operations.
  • Experience working in a startup, services business, or other lean operating environment.
  • Experience establishing reporting processes or analytics capabilities from scratch.
  • Experience with financial planning, forecasting, or budgeting.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar as part of your day-to-day work.

What Success Looks Like

We’re looking for someone who brings more than technical skills. The right person for this role is:

  • AI-fluent. You already use AI tools in your day-to-day work to analyze information, automate repetitive tasks, draft materials, and work more efficiently.
  • A builder. You’re comfortable creating processes and systems where there isn’t a playbook yet. You’d rather ship a useful first version and improve it than wait for perfection.
  • Detail-oriented. You understand that financial operations require precision. When the numbers don’t tie, you want to know why.
  • A clear communicator. You surface problems early, ask questions when something is unclear, and communicate what you know — and what you don’t.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Able is growing and evolving quickly. You’ll help shape the processes and systems you’ll eventually own.

Able is powered by curious, thoughtful people who care about what they build and how they build it. We’re actively investing in our team through AI training, knowledge-sharing, and hands-on experimentation to ensure everyone grows alongside the technology.

This position is 100% remote in Latin America. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a requirement.

As a team member, you can expect:

  • To work 40 hours per week, and be available during normal business hours as needed.
  • Payments made in USD.
  • 18 days of PTO per year, observance of local holidays, and an annual break between Christmas and New Years.
  • Wellness + Remote Stipend
  • AI Voucher

About Able

Able builds technology products in a portfolio model. We believe that people, teams, and processes are more important than the ideas themselves, so we’ve focused on bringing great people together, and investing in their growth.

We’ve built products in a variety of industries. Everything from media to finance to toys to healthcare. Sometimes we work with management teams to help their businesses grow faster or unlock value using technology. Other times we start or buy businesses outright. Each time, we look for opportunities to leverage technology built at the portfolio-level to drive value faster.

Able is committed to inclusion and diversity and is an equal-opportunity employer. All applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status.

This is but the beginning of a conversation we’d love to have with you.

Apply, and let’s get this adventure started!

Finance Controller at Spreedly

Lead accounting operations, financial close, and systems modernization for a payments platform, managing NetSuite, revenue recognition, and process automation.

Senior Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us:

Spreedly is the world’s leading Open Payments Platform. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Durham, NC, the company gives mid-market and enterprise businesses the infrastructure to connect to any payment gateway, processor, or fraud tool through a single API. The platform is vendor-agnostic by design, meaning customers are never locked into a single provider and never need to rebuild their payments stack to access new capabilities.

The core business problem Spreedly solves is real and costly: global merchants face a fragmented payments ecosystem, where every new market, payment method, or fraud tool typically requires a separate, time-consuming integration. Spreedly eliminates that complexity, enabling companies to route transactions intelligently, secure cardholder data, prevent fraud, and expand into new markets without heavy engineering overhead.

About the Role:

Spreedly is looking for a Controller to lead our accounting function and help build a more automated, scalable operating environment. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you’ll own accounting across the business while partnering closely with FP&A and cross-functional leaders.

This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who wants meaningful autonomy, enjoys solving complex problems, and knows what great systems and processes look like. Our usage-based model — including contracts with commitments, overages, and usage billed in arrears — creates accounting challenges beyond those found in a typical SaaS environment. You’ll be the steward of our finance systems, including NetSuite, Orb, and Ramp, and a driving force behind modernizing how the accounting function runs, including where automation and AI tools can remove manual work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting function, with responsibility for accurate books and a timely, consistent close
  • Oversee core accounting areas including financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, revenue recognition, treasury, tax, and audit
  • Own and improve the accounting systems stack, including NetSuite, Orb, and Ramp, ensuring data integrity across integrations
  • Assess current workflows and implement practical systems automation and AI-enabled processes
  • Build scalable processes and controls that support the company as it grows, including SOC 2 / audit readiness
  • Navigate accounting for usage-based contracts, including commitments, overages, and billing in arrears
  • Review SaaS and usage-based customer contracts for revenue recognition impact under ASC 606, partnering with Legal and Sales on rev rec-sensitive terms
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, including determining the most effective reporting structure
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Revenue Operations, Business Operations, and other teams on contracts and business decisions
  • Own the annual financial statement audit and any tax examinations, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Oversee corporate tax compliance (income, sales/use, and other filings) in partnership with outside tax advisors
  • Bring a clear point of view on what good looks like and translate it into better systems, processes, and team practices

Requirements:

  • Active CPA certification
  • Accounting leadership and people-management experience
  • Experience owning a broad accounting function rather than a narrow specialty
  • SaaS accounting experience
  • Demonstrated success in implementing systems and process automation
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) or AI-enabled workflows to improve accounting operations
  • Strong knowledge of close management, financial reporting, revenue recognition (including ASC 606), and core accounting operations
  • Ability to think quickly, operate autonomously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills

Additional Skills We Value:

  • Experience in fintech or payments
  • Experience with usage-based or consumption-based business models
  • Experience in a startup, SMB, or mid-market environment where you have owned a wide range of accounting responsibilities
  • Big Four experience combined with hands-on ownership of accounting systems, processes, or team development
  • Direct experience with Orb, Chargebee, or another usage-based billing platform
  • Direct experience with Ramp or a similar T&E/spend management platform

We Offer US-based Employees:

  • Competitive salary + Equity
  • Outstanding Medical and Dental benefits, including 100% employer-paid options
  • Company-paid Life and Disability insurance
  • Optional vision and supplemental insurance options, and various Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Open Paid Time Off policy + 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents
  • Matching 401(k) plan (5% up to $5,000 yearly)
  • Monthly home working/digital lifestyle stipend, new MacBook, and one-time accessory reimbursement
  • $1,000 annual professional development stipend
  • Access to company-paid professional coaching service
  • Visits to HQ in Durham, North Carolina for remote employees

Spreedly Product Offering:

Spreedly provides an open payments platform. The platform’s connectivity provides payments performance. Key products and services include:

Connect— A unified API that integrates with hundreds of payment gateways, processors, and alternative payment methods worldwide, including digital wallets. Merchants access the global payments ecosystem through one connection.

Vault — A PCI-compliant secure repository for payment methods. Merchants store card data once and reuse it across any payment service, reducing PCI scope and protecting cardholder data at scale.

Optimize— Workflow-driven routing and retry logic that directs each transaction to the best-performing gateway in real time. On average, 7.9% of failed transactions succeed immediately when retried on a secondary gateway. This is where merchants recover lost revenue and increase authorization success rates.

Protect— A flexible fraud and authentication layer, incorporating advanced fraud tools and 3DS. Following Spreedly’s acquisition of Dodgeball in September 2025, fraud orchestration and payment optimization now operate within the same platform.

Resolve— Centralized management and reporting that reduces operational silos, strengthens security, and improves billing control across a merchant’s entire payment operation.

What It’s Like to Work Here:

We describe our team as “Spreedlings”: diverse, forward-thinking, and driven by a shared belief that a more open payments ecosystem benefits everyone. The company operates with a culture built on transparency, courageous collaboration, and self-driven leadership. The team values simplicity in both product and process, and approaches problem-solving with genuine curiosity.

–

We champion the ethical, creative use of AI—if you’re someone who pairs human judgment with modern AI tools to work smarter and drive bigger impact, you’ll thrive here.

–

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples, structured interviews, and diversity awareness training.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does - handling payment data - finalist candidates must complete a successful background and reference check.

At this time Spreedly is unable to provide sponsorship for employment, and we are not set up to support remote employees who reside in New York. In order to be considered for employment, applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the job location country and not require future sponsorship in order to continue working in that country.

We appreciate your interest in our company. Because of the high volume of resume flow, we may only respond to those candidates that we think will be a potential fit.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. Finance Controller at Spreedly

Leads accounting function, oversees financial statements, AR/AP, payroll, revenue recognition, and implements accounting systems automation including NetSuite and AI tools.

Lead Posted 2 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product

Finance Chief Investment Officer / Head of Investments at StartEngine

Designs and launches a robo-advisory platform, selecting funds/ETFs, defining portfolio allocation logic, and serving as the public face of the investment strategy.

Exec Posted 3 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the Role

StartEngine is launching a full robo-advisory offering, converting our existing base of ~3,000 Private-fund clients onto a discretionary, algorithmically-managed platform built around a 50/30/20 portfolio philosophy. We’re hiring one person to build it: a working investment leader who has personally designed and run model portfolios before, not someone who has only managed a team that did.

This is a builder’s role, not a figurehead role. You’ll write the investment philosophy, select the actual funds and ETFs, define the allocation and rebalancing logic, and work directly with our engineering team to get it built and shipped. You will also be the named, public face of the strategy — in our regulatory filings, in client-facing materials, and in the pitch that convinces our existing clients to convert to advisory accounts.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and own the Investment Policy Statement and the 50/30/20 model portfolio framework across risk bands

  • Select and maintain the actual fund/ETF lineup using clear, defensible due-diligence criteria (cost, liquidity, tax efficiency, tracking accuracy)

  • Define the rebalancing and tax-loss-harvesting logic and work hands-on with our existing 14-person engineering team to translate it into working product — you write the spec, no separate team required

  • Serve as the named investment lead in our Form ADV and in client-facing and marketing materials

  • Partner with our General Counsel and existing compliance team to help them understand what’s different about running an RIA versus our existing broker-dealer and funding-portal businesses

  • Set the compliant talking points our licensed representatives will use when discussing advisory accounts with clients

  • Report directly to [CEO / President] with full ownership of the investment function

What We’re Looking For

  • You have personally built and run model portfolios at a small-to-midsize RIA or robo-advisor — hands-on, not delegated

  • CFA charter or equivalent demonstrated track record; we care more about what you’ve shipped than the letters after your name

  • Working knowledge of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation methodology, and passive fund/ETF selection

  • Comfortable being publicly named as the face of an investment strategy, including in regulatory disclosures

  • Able to write product requirements an engineering team can build from directly, without a translator

  • Startup mindset: you’re building this function from scratch, not inheriting a department

What We’re Not Looking For

  • A CIO who expects to hire a team before proving out the first version of the product

  • Someone whose experience is purely institutional or oversight-level, without hands-on portfolio-building work

  • A pure compliance or legal background — we have that covered; we need investment judgment

Perks & Benefits

  • 100% covered Medical/Dental/Vision - pick your own plan
  • Generous Equity package
  • Unlimited PTO and sick days
  • Paid WeWork Usage (optional)
  • 100% Remote
  • Team Off-sites and Celebration Dinners
  • Paid Maternity/Paternity leave
  • 401K program
  • Flexible hours
  • Be part of one of the fastest growing parts of the FinTech Industry
  • A chance to work with a highly profitable and rapidly expanding startup (not VC funded)
